Did you know that having a trained, notified Food Safety Supervisor (FSS) is now mandatory for most retail food service businesses?
In successfully completing this course, you’ll have the necessary certification to gain employment as a Food Safety Supervisor. There are two units as part of this short course.
You will learn to use personal hygiene practices to prevent contamination of food that might cause food-borne illnesses. You will also develop an understanding of how to follow procedures and how to identify and control hazards.
You will also learn how to handle food safely when storing, preparing, displaying, serving and disposing of food. Following procedures as outlined in the workplace food safety program is also a component covered as part of this short course.
Individuals who successfully complete this course will receive a Statement of Attainment from the SIT Tourism, Travel and Hospitality Training Package.
