Do you enjoy working with tools, machinery and equipment? Then a career in construction work is for you.
This extensive course covers a wide range of activities. It will help you to learn the practical skills you require and give you the knowledge to be competent in a range of construction industry environments. It will give you the confidence to work with others, plan work, take measurements, read plans and specifications and use construction tools and equipment. You will also learn how to apply levelling, work safely at heights and concrete simple forms.
After successfully completing this course, you will be able to work in the construction industry as a builder’s labourer. This course also gives you meaningful credit in a construction industry Australian Apprenticeship should you want to proceed further in the industry.
You will be required to study 15 units of competency to complete this qualification. There are 10 core units and 5 elective units.

Electives Units of Competency
Five (5) electives from the areas of learning in excavation, explosive power tools, height scaffolding, demolition, hoists, reinforcement materials, trench support, confined spaces, traffic control, drainage and forklift operations.
