Cobar Public School Receives Special Gift

29 September, 2020

REDI.E Job Seekers have helped frame a wonderful piece of art for Cobar Public School.

REDI.E was approached by Cobar Public School teacher Donna Prendergast, who was looking for someone to assist in getting the canvas put on a board and frame.

The indigenous painting was donated by the Prendergast family to the school.

REDI.E Activities Supervisor and artist Brian Smith, who is based in Bourke, happened to be in Cobar when Donna called with the request. Without hesitating, he picked up the painting and took it back to his team.

It only took a couple of days for the team to complete their work - mounting the painting onto a board, ready to hang. The painting was then dropped back to Cobar.

The result is outstanding and the painting looks fantastic in its new home at the school. The school was very happy and thankful to our team - especially to Brian.

Just another example of how our staff are stepping up and returning to work following COVID by hitting the ground running and making positive changes!
