Brewarrina Netball Program a Success

29 September, 2020

REDI.E’s Brewarrina Remote School Attendance Strategy (RSAS) Team have successfully run an after school netball competition.

The competition was for ages 6-13, every Thursday afternoon, for five weeks.

The REDI.E staff worked in partnership with the Seventh Day Adventist Church, the Brewarrina Youth Centre and Barbie Lee Kirby.

Food and water was provided each session, while staff provided necessary duties of
  • teaching the rules of the game
  • supervising
  • umpiring
  • cleaning

The program was very successful with between 20-50 kids attending each Thursday, along with parents and grandparents.

We believe physical activity is essential in keeping communities connected and healthy.

This is a great example of sport bringing a community together.

This initiative is funded/supported by the Australian Government.
