The Wilcannia River Woodworkers Group are giving back to the community by making furniture for the Men’s Hub, as they complete their courses in furniture making.
There are 13 participants, with around five (5) completing a Cert I in Furniture Making through Tafe Western and the remainder doing a recycled furniture course with Tasman Munro from the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).
The courses have opened up a whole new area of employment opportunities - while providing Wilcannia with an abundance of new and stylish furniture!
Here are some snaps of them in action.
