MPREC’s new website for the Social Enterprise Two Eight Three Five - a clothing Store located in Cobar – is to be launched on Thursday 2 November. It will be filled with the latest seasonal trends and will enable shoppers to browse the range from the comfort of their own home.
Someone who is particularly excited for the launch is Kasey Egan, Retail Supervisor for the store. She oversees the job seekers within the store and mentors them on Retail Services. This involves teaching them general retail skills such as customer service, retail pricing and visual merchandising.
Kasey says she loves being part of a store that is affordable and fashionable, as well as having the opportunity to create window displays and in store presentations.
“It has so much potential and has already created a range of activities within it for our job seekers,” she said.
“Things like painting the interior of the store, construction of the furniture, graphic designing for signs and shop displays and general retail activities all open up new skills for everyone involved.”
“I am passionate about working for MPREC because I love helping others learn new things and giving them the opportunities to gain skills that they can benefit from.”
The website uses the platform Vend - a cloud based Point of Sale retail software that allows Two Eight Three Five to sell stock on the website from any device, anywhere.
Kasey has been actively involved in the website design and expresses her excitement about learning skills in the eCommerce space.
Two Eight Three Five currently stocks a range of women's clothes, accessories and travel mugs from the BlueRidge Cafe. Soon, the online store will be extended to include more of MPREC and the community’s wares, such as arts, crafts and handmade items.
