Shibli joined the team at REDI.E almost three years ago. He looks after the day-to-day finances, accounts payable and receivable, budgeting and our assets and fleet management.
“Before I joined REDI.E I worked for Qantas in Sydney, which for some may seem worlds apart. But with rising house prices in Sydney and a young family, some friends told me about their experiences in Western Sydney and so I decided to make the move. It was the best decision!”
Although Shibli wasn’t familiar with the region or with REDI.E before he joined, that has not stopped him becoming integrated in our community so quickly!
“To be honest, I didn’t know much about REDI.E before I joined. I definitely got lucky with my role here. I love living in Dubbo now. It’s very friendly and easy going. Compared to travelling two hours to get to and from work in the city, I now have a lot more time for my family and an overall better work and life balance.”
While his role can be quite different to others within REDI.E, his work still directly impacts our community through the support he provides. His work in finance is so integral to the success of REDI.E as an organisation and our growth to provide these services long into the future.
“What continues to motivate me in my role is the impact that REDI.E has on the community. Although I may not be directly involved in that, I know that the work I do helps support the wider team.”
Like many of our employees, Shibli has also been offered the opportunity to develop his skills here with the addition of further training and the responsibility of managing our fleet and assets. Where possible we strive to support our people to progress their skills in their chosen field.
“I like that the work continues to challenge me. My role gives me a lot of different activities and this definitely keeps me busy! Although I am a business graduate from university I have also been doing other courses to help boost my career. I have done a Cert 3 and Cert 4 in accounting and without the support of REDI.E I would not have been able to achieve this goal.”
At REDI.E, we believe that to be successful in any role here you must bring positivity, patience and professionalism; Shibli agrees! He speaks so highly of his team, their ability to always remain calm and the great working environment they have created. “We all work together so well and communicate easily with each other. To be successful here I think you need to have a positive attitude and be open to people and their opinions. You need to be able to listen to what people expect of you and truly deliver that.” More than just a job: Join a team committed to creating real opportunity for people in our region!
