After some much needed time off over Christmas and New Years, our incredible team here at REDI.E are back and ready to take on the year ahead.
While new years are usually met with ripe enthusiasm and optimism, 2022 has started with a strange feeling of uncertainty in the air.
As Covid-19 continues to spread, it is important that you remain vigilant. Washing hands regularly, wearing masks and socially distancing where possible are all still essential practices.
We understand that anxieties are high and people are feeling lost. But here at REDI.E we believe that embracing the ambiguity is more effective than hoping for the illusion of clarity right now.
We have to take solace in the knowledge that the vaccination will keep us safe, and that things will resume to normal soon. Continue to take one day at a time.
On a happier note, we have many exciting things planned for our community this year.
The main thing I want to say about 2022 right now is - stay tuned. Starting a year off like this means it can only get better from here - and better it will be! We have set our goals high and cannot wait to share our progress with you along the way.
Congratulations to our very own Shibil Chowdhury
Firstly, we would like to say a huge congratulations to our Corporate Services Manager, Shibil Chowdhury, on being elected onto the Dubbo Council - this is a huge achievement.
Shibil has an extensive finance background, originally joining REDI.E as a Finance Officer in 2013. Passionate about delivering profitable growth and operational excellence, as well as being a great advocate for regional and remote communities, we know he will do great things.
A Victory for Brewarrina
In more council news, Brewarrina’s local elections have been announced with a record breaking number of First Nations’ people being voted in.
For the first time in council history, 6 out of the 9 members are Indigenous. This is a momentous achievement not only for the individuals elected, but for our people as a whole. Congratulations to everyone, and we cannot wait to see the great things you will achieve.
We will be sharing more information and resources throughout this year, designed to encourage people to recognise and celebrate First Nations Culture.
So again, stay tuned. There are good times ahead - we can feel it.
In the meantime, if you have any queries about how to get involved with the many projects happening here at REDI.E. please get in touch.
