Kicking goals in Wilcannia with CDP

31 January, 2018

Three new staff members have joined the team at MPREC’s Wilcannia River Radio as broadcasters, to supplement the four staff already employed there.

Eric, Alana and Anthony have transitioned from the Community Development Programme (CDP) that is currently being run in Wilcannia and will now undertake formal training for a Certificate II in Business, provided through MPREC Registered Training Organisation (RTO 91444)*.

This will enable them to continue learning new business administration skills that can utilised at the radio station while developing their current skills in the radio broadcasting field.

It is wonderful to see MPREC offering job opportunities to local people.

MPREC currently employs 20 people in the town of WIlcannia.

*MPREC RTO, strive to ensure the delivery of equitable and supportive vocational education and training, particularly within rural and remote communities.

Good training is essential to meeting good sustainable employment outcomes for jobseekers, employers and the whole community.

This initiative is funded/supported by the Australian Government.
