The Wilay Cafe has opened in the BlueRidge Business Park in Dubbo, training students in hospitality and barista courses.
The space is owned by REDI.E and is being leased rent free to Western Student Connections. A Chef Manager will train the students in Hospitality and Business Administration.
Wilay is ‘possum’ in Wiradjuri and the goal for the program is to train First Australians students, so they can gain important qualifications and skills.
At present, 10 First Australian school based trainees are working at the cafe, with two coming in each day.
REDI.E is providing mentorship to the students and any other resources they need to continue employment.
Wilay Cafe is open for drive-thru and take away from 7am to 2pm. If using drive-thru, you are able to order online first so there is no wait time!
From Bacon and Egg rolls for a great start to the day, or a delicious Chicken Schnitzel Burger for lunch, there’s something for everyone!
