Peak Hill Engagement Day Helps Participants Gain Employment

31 August, 2020

The REDI.E VTEC team in Peak Hill has held an Engagement Day this month, in partnership with the Learning and Healing Centre.

Twenty jobseekers attended - two of which have since found employment through the REDI.E VTEC program.

The Engagement Day was designed to promote connection within the community and showcase services offered by both REDI.E and the Learning and Healing Centre. The jobseekers have registered with REDI.E and will be wonderful clients.

The Centre’s goals are focused around overcoming social and emotional barriers faced by aboriginal people in the community and is facilitated by Jacqueline Read, a local Wiradjuri woman.

The day was great fun, with all age’s young and old coming together to have a yarn and enjoy the food. Special mention to the fantastic catering by Northside Sandwich Shop, Dubbo!

With the partnership between REDI.E and the Learning and Healing Centre now in place, both services can work together to help our Aboriginal people overcome barriers to employment, while supporting empowering each other.

This initiative is funded/supported by the Australian Government.
