REDI.E’s RTO team coordinated a successful training program in Goodooga, partnering with DTC Training to deliver a Traffic Control Combo course. It was subsidised by the NSW Government and supported by the Brewarrina Shire Council.
The council says it is ‘undertaking an extensive program of works with over 17 million dollars being spent on road, bridge and building works in the Goodooga area - and have partnered with REDI.E to assist with training and recruitment of personnel for this work.’
REDI.E RTO attended a community meeting in Goodooga where it was identified by community and local government representatives that there was an opportunity for employment as a result of the extensive civil construction projects across the shire.
The team approached DTC Training to run a program in Goodooga. They then coordinated with our CDP team, who organised some of their clients to attend.
The training was successfully rolled out and 12 CDP clients completed the Traffic Control Combo Course, which consists of:
- RIIWHS201D Work safely and follow WHS policies and work procedures
- RIICOM201D Communicate in the workplace
- RIIWHS205D Control traffic with a stop/slow bat
- RIIWHS302D Implement traffic management plans
REDI.E looks forward to working in collaboration with local government, communities and specialised training organisations to address the skill shortages, creating opportunities for employment across the region.
This initiative is funded/supported by the Australian Government.
