REDI.E CDP participant restores guitar to donate to local highschool

21 August, 2019

A REDI.E CDP participant in Cobar has restored an old guitar and donated it to the local high school.

When Chris Mann came into possession of the guitar, it was not in working condition. He spent several months restoring it and after a lot of hard work, he was able to turn it into a fully functioning electric guitar.

Chris stripped back the original paint, sanding it back to bring out the canadian maple wood display.

He then painted each individual piece that needed to go on the guitar, and also sourced some strings that he paid for out of his own pocket to put it all together.

Once completed, Chris approach his Employment Mentor, Che Dionysius, and asked if he could donate it to someone who would put it to good use.

‘He was extremely proud of his work, and rightfully so!,’ she said.

‘The school were so grateful and even took some photos to print in the newsletter.’

REDI.E is proud to facilitate programs that allow job seekers to give back to their local community.
