Return and Earn Container Deposit Scheme in collaboration with Vinnies
REDI.E has partnered with St Vincent de Paul Society NSW and TOMRA Cleanaway to operate an automated collection point for the Container Deposit Scheme.
The bulk container deposit centre is located at 25 Douglas Mawson Road and acts as a community access point for the Container Deposit Scheme, which is the biggest litter reduction scheme that has been introduced in NSW, with a goal of reducing the volume of litter in the state by 40% by 2020.
Automated processing is an alternative to reverse vending machines with no minimum quantity, fast processing at up to 100 containers per minute – and no need to sort lightweight from glass.
It offers immediate refunds and fast processing of containers with singulator machines that can scan and sort up to 100 containers a minute. This deposit centre offers another opportunity for Dubbo and the surrounding communities to recycle – and raise money for their local organisations, schools, charities and sporting groups.
Return and Earn is NSW’s largest litter reduction initiative and since 1 December 2017 has helped to reduce eligible drink container litter volume across the state by more than half and create more than 500 jobs.
