Description

The LJP Support Officer will have the relevant skills and experience necessary to engage with local stakeholders to support the generation of targeted activities and support the organisations funded under the Local Recovery Fund to ensure employment pathways are developed and/or employment opportunities are maximised.
This role is an exciting opportunity within REDI.E during a period when the team is driving internal and community cultural change. An individual will excel in this role if they have high level critical and strategic thinking skills, enjoy working flexibly across a variety of key areas, are skilled in providing strategic advice and guidance including in relation to working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update the Local Jobs Plan
Analyse labour market data and information 
Engage and manage stakeholder relationships 
Assisting proponents develop LJP Activities 
Collate and draft monthly reports to the department. The LJP Support Officer will also provide secretariat services to the Taskforce; including but not limited to:
Organise and coordinate Taskforce meetings, including booking rooms and sending invitations, preparing meeting papers, including agenda and minutes 
Noting outcomes/minutes and ensuring these are sent out to members within two business days of each Taskforce meeting and publishing communique 
Maintaining an issues, actions and decisions register for the Taskforce 
Maintaining a published membership list  
Undertaking ad hoc reporting as required by the department.
Ensure that all work is socially inclusive and acknowledges and is respectful of diversity among and within communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people

Requirements

Essential: 
The successful applicant will have a minimum of Two (2) years’ experience, including:
Sound experience in office administration and well-developed understanding of the administrative procedures required in a regional office.
Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity coupled with the ability to support others in rural and remote areas.
Demonstrated well developed communication skills (both oral & written), including minute taking report writing, liaison, negotiation and conflict resolution.
Demonstrated ability to build strong networks and relationships with a range of diverse service providers and stakeholders to achieve quality outcomes for clients.
Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated capacity to coordinate and facilitate a range of planning activities and management meetings
Demonstrated ability with computer literacy e.g. MS Office Suite and internal operating programs.

Desirable:
Cultural knowledge and experience – Demonstrates knowledge, skills and experience in working effectively with people and organisations in the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services sector and/or promoting social and emotional wellbeing among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
