Job seekers in the Community Development Programme (CDP) in Murrin Bridge have worked together to fix a damaged roof in the Murrin Bridge LALC office building.
The damage, caused by white ants, was extensive. The team removed the old timber battens and cleared out all the debris. They then measured and cut new timber, replaced the battens and also did all the plaster work and gyprock sheeting.
REDI.E provided basic training, including how to use the different tools and basic construction.
Activity Team Leader Chris Wykes says the team worked really well together, with each person contributing.
"Everyone had different strengths, but they all came together and worked hard, for a great result."
This initiative is funded/supported by the Australian Government.
